"We chose Developers.dev because we needed a partner who was as serious about security as we are. Their SOC 2 and ISO 27001 certifications were critical. They delivered an incredibly complex video and chat integration on time, with flawless execution. Their technical documentation and professional approach made them feel like an extension of our own engineering team."
Mark Johnson, VP of Engineering, Amplify
Amplify is a large enterprise software company providing an internal communications and community platform for Fortune 500 companies. To increase platform stickiness and cater to the demand for more personal remote interactions, they decided to add a sophisticated "Connections" feature-an internal, opt-in networking and dating-style module for employees within their client organizations. The project demanded the highest levels of security, data segregation, and a seamless user experience.
Amplify needed to build a feature that behaved like a dating app but within the strict security and compliance confines of an enterprise environment. They needed to ensure absolute data segregation between client tenants and implement features like secure video calling and interactive gamification to drive adoption. Their in-house team was at capacity with their core product roadmap.
Ensuring all communication was end-to-end encrypted and that user data was strictly isolated within each client's tenancy.
Building a reliable, low-latency, and secure video chat feature that worked seamlessly within their existing application.
Designing and implementing interactive ice-breaker games and quizzes that were professional yet fun, encouraging employee interaction.
Integrating the new module into their existing platform via a well-documented and secure set of APIs.
We assigned a specialized "Java Microservices Pod" and a "Video Streaming / Digital-Media Pod" to tackle the project. The team was structured to act as an autonomous unit, delivering a complete, production-ready module to Amplify.
We designed the module with a zero-trust security model. All data was encrypted at rest and in transit, and we used role-based access control to enforce strict data segregation.
We implemented a custom video calling solution using WebRTC, providing a secure, peer-to-peer connection that minimized latency and didn't require routing video through central servers, enhancing privacy.
We developed a configurable gamification engine that allowed Amplify's clients to customize the ice-breaker questions and quizzes to match their corporate culture.
We built the entire module as a set of standalone microservices, exposed via a secure GraphQL API. This allowed for easy integration and ensured the new feature wouldn't impact the performance of Amplify's core platform.
We worked directly with Amplify's security team to create a detailed security and compliance blueprint before writing a single line of code.
We finalized the GraphQL API schema to ensure a smooth integration path.
The team built the microservices for profiles, matching, chat, and the gamification engine.
We integrated the WebRTC video module and conducted extensive cross-browser and cross-device testing.
A third-party security firm, coordinated by us, conducted a thorough penetration test, which the module passed with no critical vulnerabilities.
We delivered the complete module, along with comprehensive technical documentation and knowledge transfer sessions for Amplify's engineering team.
The "Connections" module was successfully rolled out to three of Amplify's largest clients, receiving overwhelmingly positive feedback.
Client companies that enabled the module saw a 25% increase in daily active users and a 40% increase in average session length.
The module became a premium add-on, creating a significant new revenue stream for Amplify.
The module has been in production for over a year with zero security or data privacy incidents.
This project showcases our ability to deliver highly complex and secure solutions for enterprise clients. By combining our expertise in video streaming, microservices, and enterprise-grade security, we enabled Amplify to launch an innovative new feature that drove user engagement and created significant business value, all while adhering to the strictest standards of security and compliance.
